Shecna Nicole Murphy

Owner & Director

With more than 15 years of experience serving children and families, Shecna has worked in a variety of educational roles — pre-K teacher, instructional assistant, substitute teacher, tutor, and educational mentor — giving her a well-rounded understanding of children's developmental and academic needs.

She is currently completing her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, remaining committed to lifelong learning and educational excellence.

As an educator, business owner, and mother, Shecna believes every child deserves a safe, nurturing environment where they can learn, grow, and discover their unique strengths.

📅 Attendance, Arrival & Late Policy ▼

Attendance

Full weekly payment is expected regardless of days attended, unless your child is withdrawn with prior notice.

Arrival

Students may arrive starting at 7:45 AM. A parent or guardian must sign them in.

Late Pick-Up Fee

Closes at 6:00 PM. Late pick-up charged at $1 per minute, paid in cash upon arrival. May be waived with advance notice.

  • Tuition due every Friday by 6:00 PM
  • $25 late fee applied immediately if unpaid
  • Services suspended Monday until full balance is paid
  • After two late payments: mandatory auto-draft or dismissal
  • No refunds for sickness, absences, or holidays
  • All registration fees are non-refundable

Withdrawal

Two weeks written notice required. Failure to provide notice = $25 cancellation fee per child. Submit requests to desireddestinylearningcenter@gmail.com.

🤒 Sick Policy ▼
  • Students with contagious symptoms must stay home
  • Fever of 100.4°F or higher — student must remain home
  • Must be fever-free (without medication) for 24 hours before returning
  • Notify us via ClassDojo if child leaves school early due to illness
🌧️ Weather & Discipline Policies ▼

Weather Closures

DDLC follows Cumberland County Schools (CCS) schedule. Independent closures communicated via text, ClassDojo, or email.

Discipline

Students must respect staff and peers, use appropriate language, and keep hands/feet to themselves. Misbehavior results in reflection time or loss of privileges. Persistent aggressive behavior may result in suspension.

📸 Photography Permission ▼

DDLC may photograph students for promotional/educational use on social media and within the center. You may revoke permission at any time in writing.
